Ben studied hospitality management at the Birmingham College of Food, and took his chef qualifications at the same time. He then spent three years in contract catering before he decided to have a go at running his own restaurant business. This subsequently grew into an events company, public house and hotel in the six years that he was at the helm. This experience was of great use to Ben when he returned to contract catering with Avenance, moving to Compass as a Group Manager and most recently working for Host as a Regional Manager for the Midlands and Wales.

Ben joined the Midlands Office of Chess, situated at Castle Donington, in 2007 and specialises in Contract Catering and Facilities Management recruitment.
